An Unequal World – Homoeopathy on Mental Health and Mental Illness –
October 10 is celebrated as World Mental Health Day by the World Federation of Mental Health. Every year, activities based on this concept are carried out throughout the year and work is done accordingly in all levels of the society.
There are still some fears, confusion, curiosity, doubts, many questions in everyone’s mind regarding mind and mental illness.
Even today in the 21st century we do not fully understand mental illness. We still often rely on hearsay or information from the internet or Google University.
Psychiatrists even today say that everyone’s eyebrows are raised and questions have a tone of doubt. What are you suggesting doctor for???
An excess of fear !!!
One morning when the corona was raging, a 25-year-old boy named Vijay came running and said, “Give me medicine immediately, otherwise I’m not real. I’ll probably die! I’m suffering a lot. I’m short of breath. Please do something.“
A thorough physical examination of him did not reveal any signs of fear or illness. After pacifying him for some time and talking to him, it was realized that he was living alone due to his job. Due to travel restrictions, he could not go home or anyone could come from home to where he was staying. A person had died in his building a few days prior to the incident and no cause of death was found. There was talk in the building that his death was due to Corona. Vijay had spent a lot of time with the deceased the previous day. Vijay could not sleep all night as he was very afraid of Corona.
His mind starts thinking all night what will happen to me now ??As soon as morning came, he rushed to the hospital.
What happened to Vijay? Was ‘Vijay’ the only person with mental fear or did many sufferers go through this feeling?
Since December 2019, Corona has taken the whole world by storm and in the world till today, a different definition of survival has been born. “एकमेकांपासून दूर राहा. दो गज की दूरी, है जरुरी है |” This distance started to bother us.
People moved away from each other. Despite being very close, the importance and need of each other’s touch and emotionality was felt.
Due to the fear of Corona or the experience people went through, their minds became like a timid rabbit. They started to panic about everything for no reason. Some came out of this fear on their own but some did not. Had to seek medical help. Had to seek help repeatedly. Why? These discussions arose.
- Why do you really need mental health treatment ?
- What are mental illnesses ?
- And what kind of mental illness was born due to Corona?
Now let’s look at another example—
An IT professional named Namita visited the Clinic in a depressed mood. “How are you”? As soon as she asked this simple question, her anger was pouring out of her mouth like a volcano erupting. And how much should I do all by myself?
I used to cook, I used to look after the children, I did everything alone and I took care of my husband’s work ?
Her husband was not helping her in any work as he was not used to work. Her frustration was understandable but what was the solution? No one had thought of this.
Even today in the 21st century, in the Indian family system, be it joint or separate, the household chores are done by women. When will this mindset change?
Her husband said she was interested in working while Namita said he wanted an educated and employed wife.
The atmosphere of instability and uncertainty in all places of the world has been caused by that Corona. Those who can work from home have increased working hours and fever. Those who could not go to work had to lose their jobs or find new jobs (which might be lower paid). It created a kind of inequality.
One major common problem affecting all sections of society is the changing economic climate. Many family members lost their jobs, some had to lose their jobs, some had to quit their jobs due to the difficulty of traveling due to the closure of railway services. Working hours of some were extended and those hours were online longer to save jobs and others moved away. In some families, only the earner died due to Corona, so the whole family suffered.
The people who got Corona had a different situation.
Women have been hit hard by the epidemic along with the poor, elderly, disabled and immigrant populations. Gender disparity is increasing.
Dilip’s concern-
Dilip is a rickshaw driver in the village. A routine worker every morning. Dilip was not getting up in the morning for the past few days. He did not want to do any work. Food and sleep never ran away. At first, the wife tried to take care of everything, but later she couldn’t handle the stress. So his wife brought him to my clinic for treatment.
After talking to Dileep, it was realized that there was no business in the early days of Corona due to traffic restrictions. And then due to the limited passenger number rule it adversely affected the revenue. Meanwhile, the price of petrol and diesel was increasing.
How to live in such a situation?
How to educate children online?
He did not understand the seriousness of his behavior. Due to the lack of answers to these burning questions, Dileep became more and more depressed and he was depressed due to lack of proper guidance and treatment.
A very bad situation has happened to those who working on daily wages. Due to all these things, it is natural to feel frustration, depression, anxiety, worry and depression in the mind.
When a person is happy, happy feelings always arise in his mind, but during periods of instability, such negative feelings always arise. It includes all people of the society, caste tribe, religion.
But men, women and children have also suffered due to this disease.
Children’s behavior has changed a lot. Fickleness, restlessness, irritability, shouting, expressing anger, increasing stubbornness, etc. are very different in nature.
The serious impact of the Covid 19 epidemic is clearly visible in the society.
Millions died and 120 million people were pushed into poverty. Global recession, suffering, poverty has increased. The impact of the epidemic on inequality is evident.
Inequality is a challenging concept that is difficult to define.
- Inequality of what ?
- Household income or GDP per capita?
- Inequality in anyone ?
That person should be seen at the level of individuals. How has global income inequality changed during the pandemic?
Reading all the above examples, you may have realized that this is common. Should she immediately go to a psychiatrist because everyone goes through these feelings?
But one thing to be noted from all the above examples is that this feeling of fear arose in Vijay’s mind, if it is not removed at the right time then Vijay may fear everything. Fear can shake his confidence before doing any work and his personality can become timid.
If Namita’s anger is not vented at the right time and in the right manner, if she continues to get angry, the result will be her temper and she will lash out at everyone and destroy her sanity. If she continues to fume with anger, her body can have many side effects such as high blood pressure, heart disorders etc.
In the case of Dileep, if he gets too frustrated, he will not be able to work diligently in anything later. Constant negative thoughts will keep coming into his mind and that negativity will constantly show in his behavior and speech.
Unequal World –
Psychiatrists have a wide variety of experience in the field of mental health and homeopathy. Anxiety in patients with mental illness can transform depression into mental illness. In order to prevent it, it is necessary to seek immediate medical treatment if symptoms of mental illness appear.
Anxiety, fear, irritability, constant stress, depression, negative thoughts can all be symptoms of mental illness and if not recognized in time, it can turn into mental illness.
Everyone should also remember that Homoeopathic treatment at the right time can benefit oneself and the family.
